The 15 lap Super Stock feature would prove to be the most hotly contested event of the night. 23 cars took the green flag with pole sitter Mike Bellefeuille grabbed the lead over front row mate Scott Lawrence with Kyle Peterlin third. Randy Silverness, John Copp and Al Uotinen battled for fourth. With one lap counted there was an incident in turn one for an incident between joe Oliver and Doug Woodhall which brought out the first caution flag.
Back under green with the same players up front. The fourth place battle was settled, at least temporarily, with Silverness taking the spot and Copp in fifth. Lawrence dived to the inside of Bellefeuille at the start but could not make the pass. The caution flag quickly appeared for a Kevin Salin spin in turn one. Again Lawrence tried the inside run but Bellefeuille was still quicker off the
turns.
With two laps in the third caution flag flew for a Rob Cooper spin in turn four. Yet again Lawrence tried the inside
move and Bellefeuille held him off. The final of four caution flags flew with 12 to go for a tangle between Tim Baxter and Kevin Salin in turn four. With the stoppages finished and a dozen circuits to settle it. Bellefeuille held the lead over Lawrence but behind the leaders several drivers discovered the high groove was beginning to come in. Copp move to the
top and vaulted into third while Ryan Aho, Peterlin and Keith Kern skirmished for fourth. Lawrence finally made the
pass stick but only for a lap before Bellefeuille came back to the front. With four to go lapped traffic began to play a part. Coming for the white flag Bellefeuille was stymied by a back marker and Lawrence got a look to the inside. On the final lap there were four lead changes and it came down to Lawrence, Copp, Bellefeuille and the lapped car of Kevin Salin as
they came to the line. Lawrence pushed Salin across the line and was deemed to have nipped Copp by inches in a near photo finish. Bellefeuille, Aho and Peterlin finished out the top five.
The Late Model 20 lap main event had a rocky start. Darrell Nelson led form the pole with Tom Waseleski trailing but Paul Wrazidlo broke and stopped on the infield grass in turn four. It took three more tries to get lap one in as tangles at either end of the track stopped the action. When the action finally got going Nelson took off to the lead with Kelly Estey, Bill Byholm, Jeff Hinkemeyer and Darin Meierotto in the mix. It was a back and fourth battle as the high groove
began to work for several drivers. Just at the half way point Jeff Broking broke while in fifth after working his way forward to fifth. Nelson led the rest of the way to take the win over Bill Byholm, Estey, Hinkemeyer and Meierotto in the top five.
It was Kelly Estey winning the WISSOTA Modified feature from the outside of the front row after a brief skirmish with Dann Olson. Estey maintained the lead through four caution periods in the 15 lap event, the final of which closed the pack to his rear bumper with three laps remaining. He was able to pull away from Olson for the win while Al Uotinen was third. From deep in the pack at the start, defending point champion Dean Yrjanainen drove to the fourth place finish while Don Copp finished in the top five.
Trevor Wilson took the top spot in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Starting from the outside of the second row, Wilson took the point after a caution flag that ensued when Mike Kalkbrenner and leader Shane Kisling collided and spun. Kalkbrenner was charged and sent to the rear leaving Kisling to fend off Wilson, but not for long. Wilson and outside pole starter Tom O'Brien moved to the outside and ran nose to tail and ran down Kisling as they both sailed by into first and second. At the checkered flag it was a tight pack that crossed the finish line with Wilson for the win. Tourville got by O'Brien for second with Don Velleux fourth and Kisling fifth. Marshall Andrews who had spun on the opening lap rebounded to finish just out of the top five in sixth.
