FLYNN TAKES FIRST CAREER SUPER
STOCK WIN
Rain Cancels Rest Of Program
By Jerry O'Brien
Dave Flynn took advantage of a
caution flag and another shortened Super Stock main
event to win his first ever Super Stock feature win.
Flynn and defending track champion Ryan Aho led the
field to the green flag but Tim Borgeson stopped the
action with a first turn spin. The next time around
for the start several cars wrecked in the first turn
apparently triggered by Keith Kern involving Donnie
Lofdahl and J B Stortz. The next attempt at a start
saw Aho jump from the outside of the front row to
the lead and drive away from Flynn, Mike
Bellefeuille, Dale Gangl and Brian Mikkonen battling
for position. Yet another yellow caution flag flew
for an incident with Darin Meierotto getting the
ticket. At this point officials called for a two lap
shoot out. Aho still held the lead but Flynn was
right on his bumper and won the drag race to the
checkered flag nipping Aho for his first feature
win.
Shortly after the finish of the
abbreviated of the Super Stock feature it began to
rain lightly. Officials were unable to get the
track worked into a raceable condition and cancelled
the rest of the show. Next Friday June 8 the program
will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a make up feature for
the Modifieds 15 laps in length followed by the Late
Model 20 lap make up feature. The other three
features for the Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks
and Pure Stocks will be made up at a later date to
be announced.
